Clinical Medical Professional Certifications

The Clinical Medical Professional pathway supports students pursuing broader clinical skill sets and multiple certification opportunities.

Primary Certifications (No Clinical Experience Required)

The Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) and Certified Medical Administrative Assistant (CMAA) credentials validate knowledge and skills related to clinical support and medical office administration.

To obtain the Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) and Certified Medical Administrative Assistant (CMAA) certifications, candidates must:

• Pass the Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) exam
• Pass the Certified Medical Administrative Assistant (CMAA) exam

These certifications do not include clinical requirements.

Optional Certifications with Clinical Requirements

The Clinical Medical Professional program also includes optional certifications that do require hands‑on clinical requirements, including:

• Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT): 30 venipunctures & 10 capillary sticks
• Certified EKG Technician (CET): 10 EKGs

Candidates must pass the exams and complete the hands-on requirements to be certified in those fields.

Hands-On Experience (Clinical Sites)

Candidates often complete their clinical requirements at:

• Hospitals
• Outpatient Practices/Private Practices
• Cardiology Offices
• Community Health Centers
